E.P. Carrillo Trilogy Sampler
It’s a trinity all right – the holy trinity of E.P. Carrillo. A three-cigar sampler with treasures that you might want to save for the postgame celebration. Inside the lavish presentation box are three of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s finest cigar creations.
- EPC La Historia E-III (#2 Cigar of the Year, 2014) – Rife with notes of coffee, wood, earth, and spices, this full-bodied gem burns smooth and consistently every time.
- Encore by EPC Majestic (#1 Cigar of the Year, 2018) – A Nicaraguan puro that smokes spicy sweet and remains one of the most requested cigars in the Famous humidor.
- Pledge by E.P. Carrillo Prequel (#1 Cigar of the Year, 2020) – The reigning heavyweight champ that Gary called “[a] well-rounded serving of woodiness, semi-sweet treats, and peppery spices.”
It doesn’t matter which one you reach for, they’re all the top of their game. And at its price, I’d be surprised if Famous had any left by the time you finish reading this…
HVC Hot Cake Gran Canon (New Size!)
Wrapper: Mexican San Andres Maduro
Binder: Corojo 2006 Maduro
Filler: Corojo 2006 Maduro
This ain’t no shortstack. It’s more like a Denny’s Grand Slam-sized serving. Big-ring cigar fans, if you haven’t yet guessed, I’m talking to you. Take a look here at the 6” x 60 Gran Canon – it’s a latest vitola from HVC’s Hot Cake series. All that medium-bodied, dark-leaf flavor of cocoa, coffee, and rich spices you love is still here…in a long-smoking format that burns smoother due to its size. If you’re parked up super early and have lots of time to kill, this is a prime stick to reach for – and the only cigar on this list as large as the love for your team!
Upmann 1844 Classic
Wrapper: Ecuador Connecticut Shade
Is it as classic as the ’85 Bears? I dunno, but I can’t complain about its flavor. I’m talking, of course, about H. Upmann 1844 Classic – the Grupo de Maestros’ latest addition to Upmann’s Heritage series. The blend is wrapped in a noticeably dark Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper that’s clearly got a bit more fermentation – evidenced by the cigar’s flavors of toasted almonds, cocoa, and subtle spices – a perfect example of Connecticut cigars’ next generation. Best of all…its price is super friendly, especially if you and your buddies will be splitting a box.
