Revamped La Mezcla Cubana Arrives at Stores

The new version of the La Mezcla Cubana has begun arriving at stores.

Earlier this month, United Cigars began shipping the new La Mezcla Cubana Rothschild, a 4 1/2 x 54 parejo that uses a seven-year-old Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper over an Indonesian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Pennsylvania.

It has an MSRP of $5.99 per cigar and is offered in boxes of 50. Tabacalera Magia Cubana is producing the cigar.

“My morning commutes have become much more agreeable,” shared Oliver Nivaud, director of operations at United Cigars. “This blend works well with the aged wrapper, perfect distraction to the day at an inflation resistant price.”

La Mezcla Cubana was originally owned by Victor Vitale, a cigar distributor in the northeast. He sold the brand from 2006-2013 before selling it to United Cigars. For its part, United Cigars decided to relaunch the brand after it purchased seven-year-old Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrappers from ASP, a noted tobacco grower.
