Ramón Allones Sr. Henry Honors Heinrich Villiger

Last year, Heinrich Villiger turned 90-years-old, which of course calls for a special cigar. Villiger, who is the chairman of the Switzerland-based Villiger cigar empire, could have had a Villiger cigar made in honor of the occasion, but there’s actually a Cuban cigar that’s been created in his honor.

It’s the Ramón Allones Sr. Henry, an Edición Regional that is officially part of the 2020 program and officially made for Germany. Villiger is also the managing director of 5th Avenue Products Trading GmbH, the distributor of Cuban cigars for Germany, Austria and Poland.

The cigar measures 5 9/10 (150mm) x 54, a size known as geniales. It wears a special secondary Edición Regional band that not only reads “Exclusivo Alemania,” Exclusive Germany, but also a top part that reads “90 Aniversario Sr. Henry.” That band has been used before, notably for various Middle Eastern exclusives marking the anniversaries of Phoenicia T.A.A. Cyprus Ltd.

In Germany, the Ramón Allones Sr. Henry will be priced at €19 ($22.60) per cigar and it is limited to 18,000 numbered boxes of 10 cigars. While it’s technically a German exclusive, 5th Avenue plans on selling it in Austria and Poland as well.

The company says that it’s hoping to send the cigars to stores next month. It was previewed over the weekend when 5th Avenue hosted its 7th Habanos Day in Germany.

Villiger co-founded 5th Avenue in 1989. Like other Cuban cigar distributors, it is partially owned by Habanos S.A. He also co-founded Intertabak AG, which is the Swiss importer of Cuban cigars.
