Kafie 1901 Señoritas Begin Shipping Today

A pair of new small cigars designed both for the winter months and to pair with a warm cup of coffee is ready to head to stores.

It’s the Kafie 1901 Señoritas, which were announced in September and measure just 4 inches long and have a 30 ring gauge. The line is offered in two blends, one using an Ecuadorian habano natural wrapper and the other using an Ecuadorian habano maduro wrapper. Both have a mix of medium and long fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras, are offered in 50-count boxes, which are produced at the company’s factory in Danlí, Honduras. Pricing for both blends is set at $79.99 per box, which works out to about $1.60 per cigar.

The Señoritas is a follow-up to an even smaller cigar, the 4 x 22 Kafie 1901 Cigarillos, which are offered in the same blend options.

“This was a passion project to develop cigars that pair well with a cup of coffee,” Dr. Gaby Kafie told halfwheel. “Our company now offers six varieties of single source coffee, all very exotic beans and roasted to bring out maximum quality flavors. We have had tremendous success with our coffee, and expect these new offerings to fit in well with our portfolio of offerings.”

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I’m a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
