AGANORSA Leaf Announces Guardian of the Farm Cerberus

There will be a new canine joining AGANORSA Leaf’s Guardian of the Farm pack, Cerberus.

Named for the mythical three-headed hound that guarded the gates of Hades, the cigar is a Nicaraguan puro that uses AGANORSA Leaf tobacco and features the company’s new corojo 2012 tobacco for the wrapper. The company says that leaf contributes a light spice and a rich, smooth body to the blend.

“Corojo 2012 is going to add another level of complexity to AGANORSA Leaf’s signature flavor and aroma,” said Terence Reilly, vice president of sales and marketing for AGANORSA Leaf. “We wanted to utilize it first on the Cerberus because Guardian of the Farm is the most popular with cigar enthusiasts who appreciate the nuances and characteristics of new tobaccos. We think they will be very pleased with the Cerberus.”

It will be offered in three regular production sizes, all of which will be offered in 15-count boxes that are slated to be released during the first quarter of 2022:

  • Guardian of the Leaf Cerberus 6 1/4 x 52
  • Guardian of the Leaf Cerberus 6 x 44
  • Guardian of the Leaf Cerberus 5 x 54

A fourth vitola, a 6 x 52 toro, is being released as a limited edition for the cigar’s launch. It will be limited to 200 boxes of 10 cigars and offered exclusively to members of Cigar.com’s Elite Advantage Loyalty Program beginning today. That cigar is priced at $9.99; the company has not yet finalized pricing for the other three sizes in the line. All of the sizes are made at the company’s Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, also known simply as TABSA.

AGANORSA Leaf released the original Guardian of the Farm line in August 2016, naming the vitolas in the line for the dogs that guard the company’s tobacco farms. In August 2019, the company released its first follow-up, the Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch, which uses a corojo maduro leaf grown in Nicaragua’s Jalapa region.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I’m a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
